About
Hi, my name is Kath Lockett and, like 99.9999999% of the population, I love chocolate. Always have, always will.
I’ve been a chocolate reviewer since 2006, at first writing at the UK-based but internationally-focussed website Chocablog and now for Australian readers, eaters, dreamers, consumers, buyers, chefs, dieters and oglers.
Gone Chocco is about fun. I mean chocolate is meant to be fun and pleasurable and make people happy, isn’t it? It’s also about enjoying the search: finding out what’s available, what’s new, what’s an old classic; what’s to be learned, what other people like and why what you crave when you’re at home on the lounge in your trakkie daks is just as valid as the posh stuff you spent big bucks on.
As for me, I’m a writer, having published the book, Work/Life Balance for Dummies in Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany. I also write for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald newspapers, do book reviews for a variety of publications and blather on about my personal blog that celebrates daggyness in all its forms, Blurb from the Burbs.
Welcome to Gone Chocco. Linger awhile, subscribe (it’s free and has no calories) and send me an email if you have any queries, suggestions or want to tell me about something worth trying in the chocolate-field.
A couple of times I’ve had to get out of my generous elasticated waistband tracksuit pants and get ready to put my head on the telly:

Brilliant and what I so love about you – funny!
How exciting for us Chocco~Aussies!I love being around chocolate, people who love chocolate, people that talk about chocolate, anything chocolate…my favourite & always will be x
Thanks Jacqueline – I attribute the silliness to an over-supply of sugar (amongst the cocoa butter) swirling around my bloodstream!
Helen – I agree – chocolate is never boring. Especially when some is being offered to you during the discussion
Kath xo
You had me at “choc” – congratulations on the new site!!!
Kym. Your comment ‘You had me a choc’ is utterly, deliciously perfect and is pretty much my life’s mantra!

Even vicunas love chocolate!
Ah yes, ‘Vicuna Man’ they do. God bless drunken games of Balderdash that have given us words like Vicuna – the device affixed to the outsides of carvans for shelter; and CRISSUM – the ring of feathers around a bird’s bum!
Hi Kath,
I am an Italian Chocablog reader and, now that you started your web-site, I (of course!) subscribed to your newsletter too!
What? Italy is a bit far away from Australia?!? If there is anything concerning chocolate, no place is too far away!!!
Anyway, I greatly enjoy being informed about chocolate from all over the world. I wish you a lot of luck and success (and of course fun!) with your “Gone Chocco”!
Best wishes
Mariangela
Thanks Mariangela, maybe you could suggest some really top-notch Italian chocolate that I could then go and investigate to see if it’s available here in Australia?
Welll, the first two that come to my mind are Domori and Amedei…
Well, the first two that come to my mind are Domori and Amedei…

Hey Kath, you are the Chocolate goddess indeed!
I am spreading the word in the Australian tropics… and am very hopeful to win your hamper, any chance it can be personally delivered?
Dale. x
Thanks Dianne, it’s lovely to get such kind feedback!
And MyrtleMoke – maybe….if you WIN that is? How will the chocolate go up in the tropical heat?
You realise I am only subscribing for the benefit of my beloved dont you? No thank you, I will not be trying out anything I read (mouth is watering – pass the girl a bib someone) I shall resist all temptation and not circum to the smlee, texture, taste.
Oh buggar it reinstate the gym membership and pass the chocolate.
You probably have the best job in the world don’t you, Kath?
Hmph…
If only I was one.
One question; How long do you spend on the computer a day?
Please just give me a rough answer.
Love the site & love chocolate. Had a total disaster today desperately wanted chocolate & had none in the house………..aarrgh, hubby was desperate for it too (chocolate that is). To make matters worse we are 25km from the nearest shops on a farm and the shops aren’t open past 12 on a Saturday. Luckily we had cooking chocolate but only a small bit of that left too. Made some profiteroles with vanilla custard & choc ganache which has satisfied my cravings for today at least. Hanging out to next shopping day to buy a block of Cadburys……………
Cookies n cream – would you be prepared to share the recipe?
Congratulations on the opening of your successul site!
